How long we keep on cheering for Messi & Neymar...?!

How long we keep on cheering for Messi & Neymar...?!

When we will have a Indian National Football superstars to cheer up for in the International Level?

Seems like a silent revolution is taking place in this direction.

Few events coming up in Indian Football may potentially change the face of Indian Football.

1) Indian Super League:

The Indian Super League is the name of a new, proposed football league in India by IMG-Reliance (a joint venture of IMG and Reliance Industries) and the All India Football Federation. It is set to kick-off in 19 September 2014 and finish its first season in November of that year. The league is expected to run along the lines of the Indian Premier League and Major League Soccer of the United States.

The eight cities which were selected to host teams are Bangalore, Delhi, Goa, Guwahati, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.

Spanish La Liga 2013-14 season winners(ahead of Messi's Barcelona & Ronaldo's Real Madrid) is a stake holder in Atlético de Kolkata.

Indian Sports & Film Superstars like Sachin, Ganguly, John Abraham, Ranbeer Kapoor, Business houses like Videocon, Sun Group Wadhwan Group, DEN networks are the other team owners.

2) India to host Under-17 FIFA World Cup in 2017:

India have won the right to host the 2017 Under-17 FIFA World Cup. This will be the biggest football tournament ever on Indian soil. The All India Football Federation submitted India's bid to host the under-17 event only in November after obtaining necessary guarantees on tax exemption and security from the Union government. The Under-17 World Cup happens every two years.

The FIFA executive committee awarded the tournament to India after a meeting in the eastern Brazilian city of Salvador da Bahia on Thursday. The bidding countries are required to submit written guarantees on tax exemption for broadcasters and sponsors, foreign exchange remittances, security, transport and accommodation of players, and visa, among others.

Does anybody remember Indian Junior Football Team (under 10 or 12 ) have delivered brilliant performances against their counter parts like Real Madrid, Dynamo Kiev, Porto Lisbon, Manchester United etc, few years back? Most of the matches ended up in draw or India won or few lost. This wonder was under Coach Satheevan Balan. Coach Satheevan Balan is still there. Some of these kids may feature in the upcoming U-17 team as well.

Hence, let us wait for those days that India will come back to it's glory of 50s & 60s once again.
