Chess is a game.
that earned much fame.
Played on a board,
& the board is checkered.
With 64 squares,
Blacks & whites,
Arranged in grid,
Eight by eight.
Pawns are small,
They stand the row full.
Bishops are two,
Diagonally they move.
Knights are funny,
Their moves are tricky.
Rooks are strong,
Like corner stones.
Queen is stronger.
She rules the square.
King stay calm,
Till threats pose harm.
